Justice for Equality

Principal Message

Welcome to City Law College (CLC), Dimapur, a premier Centre of Legal Studies in the state of Nagaland. Since our establishment in 1994, CLC has remained steadfast in its mission to nurture and empower young men and women, preparing them to excel in a dynamic and interconnected world. Our founders, seven visionary Naga citizens from diverse backgrounds. envisioned a college that would bring accessible legal studies to Nagaland, fulfilling a longstanding hope for quality legal education within the state.

At a time when Nagaland lacked a government law college, CLC emerged as a beacon of opportunity, broadening access to legal education and addressing the aspirations of our community. Even today, as the only law college in Dimapur district and with Nagaland still awaiting a government law institution, our commitment remains unwavering. Through our three-year law programme, we have established ourselves as a premier centre of legal studies blending rigorous academic curriculum with practical exposure, clinical legal education, and robust participation in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Our resolute and qualified faculty, supported by a resource rich library and ICT enabled classroom, create a vibrant learning environment. The campus itself, located at Burma Camp, Dimapur is renowned for its scenic beauty and sustainability, exemplifying our commitment to green initiatives. We strive not only for academic excellence but also to shape the character and values of our students, fostering critical thinking, leadership, and a spirit of service.

CLC is proud of its consistent record of success in Nagaland University examinations, with our students and alumni distinguishing themselves in various fields, including the recent achievement of Ms. L. Talikumla Aier, an alumna and our former faculty member who secured merit no. 1 in the Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland Category of the Grade-III Nagaland Judicial Service Examination. Our programmes prepare students with the skills and capabilities necessary to contribute effectively to both the state and the nation as responsible agents of positive social change.

Grounded in faith and resilience, our institution grows stronger year after year. Our trajectory is characterised by continuous development, leadership, and academic achievement. Rather than relying on previous successes, we are committed to excellence, embracing innovation critical inquiry, and the pursuit of new standards.

Moving forward, CLC remains dedicated to enhancing its established legacy, leveraging collective strengths to contribute meaningfully to legal scholarship and practice. We encourage all students, parents, and stakeholders to actively participate in this shared mission, as together we strive to advance the future of law and justice in Nagaland and leave a lasting imprint on society and the legal profession.

May God bless us all.
