On 25th April 2025, a group of students from City Law College, Dimapur visited the District and Sessions Court Complex, Dimapur, Nagaland as part of an academic field trip aimed at enhancing their practical understanding of the judicial system.
Accompanied by faculty members, the students observed live court proceedings, gaining firsthand experience of the day-to-day functioning of a trial court. From procedural formalities to oral arguments by advocates. The session provided invaluable insights that enriched their classroom learning. One of the highlights of the visit was a productive and engaging interaction session with the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Dimapur. The Hon’ble Judge addressed the students with warmth and sincerity, sharing his experiences from the bench and offering guidance on ethical practice, professional responsibility and the evolving role of law in society. The students were encouraged to uphold integrity and remain committed to justice.
The session not only motivated the aspiring legal professionals but also allowed them to clarify doubts and ask questions regarding courtroom procedures, the challenges of adjudication and the functioning of the justice delivery system. The educational visit concluded with a group photo in front of the court building — a moment that captured the spirit of curiosity, discipline, and enthusiasm among the students.
Such exposure visits play a vital role in shaping informed, skilled and responsible future legal professionals. The College intends to continue organizing similar initiatives to strengthen the bridge between legal theory and practice.
